What can you do to help? There are endless opportunities. No effort is too small. As we work to bring all of our resources together, we create a ripple effect. As the ripple grows… it strengthens, it builds. The human trafficking is flooded with lifesaving change.

Selah Freedom is committed to being a part of the ripple effect and abolishing modern day slavery. Our goals are to:

R: Restore victims and provide safe housing.

I: Institute change in culture by prevention

P: Partner with law enforcement, the community and service providers to support and equip

P: Protect and support those who have been sexually exploited

L: Legislate and advocate change in laws to stiffen the penalty of trafficking, providing more rights to victims and create laws that play a strategic role in abolishing slavery

E: Empower others to use their resources to end slavery

Restore Victims and Provide Housing:

Selah Freedom will provide safe housing for victims of sex trafficking and restorative programs. There are currently 0 beds designated for trafficking victims south of Tampa and north of Fort Myers.

Imagine. You have been stolen or coerced, beaten, and forced into sex slavery. You are sold on the street, in strip clubs, on craigslist, in hotels… The places are endless and so are the customers. You might even be a child. Fearfully, you make your escape. You reach out in desperation to be saved… only to be shuffled around in an attempt to find you a safe place. There are no homes for you. Your fate, once again is unknown.

Institute Change

The only way to stop slavery is to change the culture. Education is the key to change. First, you must become aware of the reality of the situation. Selah Freedom is committed to promoting change by:

- Speaking at public venues, educating churches, synagogues, schools, and other organizations by shedding light on modern day slavery

- Speaking at colleges venues educating young adults of the power they carry to end human trafficking

Partner

Work alongside law enforcement to provide education and support to health care providers, schools, church leaders, day care providers, and other groups in identifying possible victims of trafficking. Equip them with next steps when they have identified a victim.

Protect and Support

Selah has built alliances and collaborations with strategic organizations to provide a program that will successfully meet the needs of survivors. The goal is to provide the time to heal with the time to overcome fears.

Legislate and Advocate

We will delight in the day there is an end to loop holes that allow traffickers to walk away with an insignificant punishment, while the victim is treated like a criminal. We desire tough laws on traffickers, paying clients and those who aide in the industry. It is our desire to be a voice for victims speaking boldly of their rights and the rights that have been stolen from them.

Empower Others

Everyone has something to offer whether it is time, means, or resources. Empowering others to move encapsulates all of other goals. Without empowerment, there will be no change, no freedom, no end to slavery. Join us in the one of the greatest causes of our time to end slavery.
