We’re living in a “resource-challenged” world.
Financial growth is always a challenge for nonprofit organizations throughout the US that must invent new ways to raise revenue every year. This is not an easy thing to do, as philanthropic donations are never enough to allow service-based organizations to continue to thrive and financially fuel their programs.
In response to the challenge to find additional funding, Selah Freedom is participating in a program called “Margin & Mission Ignition,” an entrepreneurial endeavor of The Patterson Foundation aimed at assisting organizations such as Selah to build organizational capacity, boost revenue and strengthen mission impact by learning to be entrepreneurs. With expert guidance, Selah will learn how to tap into additional resource funding that can generate income – whether through the sale of products, event hosting, specialized programs or other innovative ideas.
This is an exciting step forward for all of us at Selah, as we will now explore different themes each year that offer sponsorship opportunities. Stacey Efaw, Executive Director of Selah Freedom, made the exciting announcement to Selah’s staff that through Margin & Mission Ignition, Selah will be diversifying revenue streams that will not only strengthen the financial viability of nonprofits but will build organizational capacity.
Selah’s participation in “Margin & Mission Ignition” will unfold over a 30-month process that will see us develop and implement earned-income strategies to help them throughout the nine counties they serve in Southwest Florida to strengthen and thrive.
We are grateful for the opportunity to sustain and extend our capacity to do good in the communities that we serve.
